Citizens Advice Bridgend has been helping people solve their problems for many years. Our role in our communities in helping people is more important than ever and our overarching aims remain the same as they always have been:

  • To provide the advice people need for the problems they face.
  • To improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.
  • To provide free, confidential, impartial and non-judgmental advice to everyone in accordance with their rights and responsibilities.
  • To value diversity and challenge discrimination.

Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are all things we hold dear. We subscribe to the view that we are all equal through our common humanity; we value and embrace the diversity of our clients, staff and volunteers and we work to eliminate discrimination.

Our advice is for everyone, but we design our services, so they are proportionate to need, even where the numbers of people affected are small.  We are here to empower our clients and we always treat clients, staff and volunteers with respect and dignity.

Designing the seamless journey, including getting a better sense of any groups who may be less well served at present, is a key priority for us as a service. One of the key ways in which we will ensure that we do not waver from our commitment to helping everyone find a way forward is to focus relentlessly on providing a seamless, preventative and progressive journey for our clients. Our staff and volunteers are crucial to making this happen so the learning and development of our staff, in addition to the well-being of our staff is a high priority for us.

  • We project that demand for our services will continue to rise as socio-economic pressures impact our communities.
  • We will drive service growth to meet demand with evidence-based flexible solutions for multichannel delivery targeting hard to reach sectors of our community and meeting client needs.
  • We will work with local, regional, cross regional and national partners to maintain, secure and diversify our funding services.

Our commitment to our staff

In addition to offering the opportunity for people from all backgrounds to develop their personal skills and confidence to support our charitable services whilst assisting their own career development.
